Wishcasting Wednesday: what do you wish to complete?

I think this week's prompt hit me right between the eyes. I have so many things left unfinished that I'd love to see through to completion:

An ottoman that needs more painting, a seat cushion and fabric
A rocking chair for my niece's baby
Two half aprons that need ties
Four more aprons that need to be sewn
Unfinished laundry
Amazing ideas for projects that are dying of loneliness
Daily "to do" lists with half the items checked off

I was just talking with Breen last night about how inspired and awestruck I am with the way that he focuses on particular goals and passions and keeps at them diligently until each one is fulfilled and/or completed. I've never been particularly strong in that area. Sure I have passions, projects and great ideas but I always seem to get so distracted with a new idea that things get left in the corner unfinished. And it's not just with creative things either. I'm a Type B personality. My husband is Type A. Do personality types have a direct correlation to incompleteness? With each day, I'm growing and processing and learning so much. My greatest wish is to really get deep down inside and get some clarity on why things are left undone. I know I feel empowered and productive when I am able to see something to completion.

Yup am right there with you..too many dierctions. I think somehow men have permission to hyper focus on what ever. We should to..but somehow the guilt sneaks in..the dishes, read a story to a peanut..etc. I understand!!

  5. I always thought I would be the last person to ever say this - but make lists and prioritise then focus on top priorities first. Never mind that other tasks only take 5 minutes when the biggie takes 6 hours - it's most important, do it first. Trust me, you'll feel better. I'm off now to practice what I preach!

  6. Oh honey, I'm a type A and have a list of unfinished dreams a mile long! I think your husbands success is in that he's male and only sees one thing at a time...as women we see multiple layers all at once causing us to get easily distracted. As you wish for yourself I so lovingly wish for you also!

I know the feeling. I think we all have these lists.
About the laundry- why can't one do such a boring thing once and for all?! ;) Why every day new laundry? *sigh*

  11. As Jane wishes for herself, so do I wish for her also. I always love dropping by to see your finished aprons and artwork - always so beautiful. I so admire your talent. The thing about laundry is this - I always realize that just about the time I tick it off the list - it's time to put it back on there. So, I don't do that anymore, I save lists for THE STUFF - otherwise I feel too much like I'm doing a bunch of mundane crap all the time. Laundry isn't on the list anymore - but watering the plants is even though tick it off and back on it goes - but watering the plants makes me feel alive!

Bit by bit, step by step...you'll get things done. In your own way - in your own time.
