Wishcasting Wednesday: what do you wish to say yes to?

These days find me in an odd place. I haven't quite been my usual self. Without my role as "worker", I'm floundering around on dry land like a fish out of water. I'm constantly in the state of processing a million thoughts daily. I feel small and lost at times. I never realized how a job title defined who I was for so long and it stings every time I realize the value people place on what others do for a living. Although my previous job wasn't even a high end power position, I was still a woman with a purpose every day; a place to go, an entity collecting a paycheck and contributing much more than I do now. Some days the time flies by and others it feels like the walls are closing in. And through all of this, I struggle with seriously tough questions like,

Does God really exist when the times are hard like this?
Does my husband still see me for the good things he fell in love with?
Do my kids respect that I'm home now?
Do I really need to write like I used to? Cook like I used to?
Do I have worth when I'm not working?
Am I less attractive because of this struggle?

So today, I wish to say yes to all of my doubting questions. Yes to letting God in. Yes, I am a good wife and mother. Yes, I need to have my creative outlets. Yes I am worthy and loved and attractive. Yes, I will find the perfect way to generate income and feel important with myself. Yes, I am enough.

  4. Sorry to disagree with you here, Jane.

The yes to being enough? I think that's not correct.

Yes to being MORE than enough? Now that I can agree to...

You are not your job. You are more than that.
You are not a mother. You are more than that.
You are not a wife. You are more than that.
You are not a writer and cook. You are more than that.

You are. You are. You are.

As Jane wishes for herself, I wish more for her..because I love her for all she is and all she will be going forward.

  6. Hi Jane, we are in the same boat. I'd been looking for a job for awhile, and I am tired of too many interviews, of been either too qualified or under qualified. I wish I could find a job where I will be if not super happy, truly at peace with it and I wish that you can find what you need too. :)

  8. As you wish for yoursel,so I wish for you also Jane.

Did you know that according to the powers that be, if a housewife/mother was to actually earn an income, it would be no less that $500,000! So yes, your every effort within your home, your family and your community is worth it...worth so much more than a monetary value...so much more than those doubts. You are absolutely, without a doubt, enough Jane.

    Peace,
    WRO

  9. Every moment is sacred, this time is sacred too (this are not my words, but i love them and i´m borrowing them for you).
You are going through a hard time, and it´s only natural to worry and take time to rest, think and let your feelings flow freely.
Everything will be allright and of course you are always perfect as you are in every stage of your life!
As you wish for yourself, so i wish for you also,

You are rich because you are you...

As Holly said (and I second wholeheartedly!) - you are more than enough!
It is terrible to be without a job- may you find what you are seeking!
    All the best.
